Scientific Visualization using Python 2023
C2SM, in collaboration with Scientific IT Services (SIS) of ETH, will hold this workshop to introduce interested researchers of the C2SM community to visualisation in the Python programming language.
Target groups
PhD students, post-docs and staff from C2SM-associated research groups. Participants should have basic programming experience in any language. We encourage participants to become familiar with basic Python prior to the workshop. Attending our introduction workshop will prepare you sufficiently for this course. February 16 & 17, 2023 from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Venue
The course will take place in the Octave Building OCT E 34/36 (Binzmühlestrasse 130, 8092 Zurich). We will provide a Python programming environment accessible with a web browser. Starting time is 9 AM.

This course is offered free of charge.
Content
The workshop will consist of alternating short presentations and subsequent hands-on exercises. The exercises focus on examples from atmospheric- and climate science, but participants from other fields should profit nonetheless. The programm is as follows:
